I did not want to buff pokemon stats, as I think some pokemon need to fill specific niches/early game pokemon etc. However, many pokemon have boring or forgettable types, and prevent anyone from really wanting to use them despite having cool designs.

These are type changes that I think will make the pokemon more fun. Do I actually think they should make Blastoise Water/Steel? No. Should Luxray, the GLEAM EYES Pokemon, who is all about LIGHT, be a Dark type? No. But it makes the pokemon more unique and makes use of unused or rarely used typings

PokemonNew TypeNew MovesLogic
MeganiumGrass / FairyDraining Kiss, MoonblastMeganium is fairly weak, and giving it Fairy and Triage makes it more interesting.
TyphlosionFire / GroundMud Slap, Mud Bomb, Earth PowerTyphlosion is a badger/hedgehog, which screams Ground type.
FeraligatrWater / Dark—Feraligatr has a sinister, aggressive design and already learns many Dark moves.
BlastoiseWater / SteelMetal Claw, Flash CannonSteel guns on his back—unfair he’s the only mono-type Kanto starter.
ArbokPoison / Dark—Forgettable and weak; Dark makes him a more fitting villain and less trash.
NinetalesFire / FairyDisarming Voice, MoonblastCounterpart to Alolan Ninetales; plenty of mono-Fire types already. Canonically unused combo!
ParasectBug / GhostShadow Claw, Astonish, Shadow SneakParasect sucks; Ghost fits its theme. Provides a usable non-gimmick Bug/Ghost.
Venonat / VenomothBug / Psychic—Too many Bug/Poison lines; learns Psychic moves anyway and it’s a rarer typing.
Ponyta / RapidashFire / ElectricSpark, Zing Zap, Wild ChargeRotom-type restriction + Rapidash is forgettable; Electric fits its speed.
Doduo / DodrioGround / FlyingMud Slap, Bulldoze, Drill RunRunning bird; Ground/Flying fits sandy desert vibes and literal feet on ground.
ElectivireElectric / FightingMach Punch, Power-Up Punch, Close CombatPlenty of mono-Electric types; Electric/Fighting feels right.
Magmar / MagmortarFire / WaterBubble, Scald, SurfControversial—mono Fire Magmortar is boring; Fire/Water is unique and fits duck design.
NoctowlGhost / FlyingOminous Wind, Shadow BallNormal/Flying is overused; Drifblim is the only real Ghost/Flying otherwise.
Ledyba / LedianBug / FightingDrain PunchLedian is awful; this at least gives it something.
AriadosBug / DarkNight Slash, BiteBug/Dark is rare; Ariados is forgettable without something unique.
SunfloraGrass / FireEmber, FlamethrowerStarter-type combos rule; Sunflora needs something to make it unique.
YanmegaBug / DragonDragon Breath, Dragon PulseIt’s a dragonfly—how is it not part dragon? Dragon/Bug is unused and fun.
MismagiusGhost / FairyFairy Wind, MoonblastGhost/Fairy is awesome; makes Mismagius more fun.
GranbullFairy / GroundBulldoze, EarthquakeFairy/Ground is unused; Granbull is the only mon where it “fits okay.”
SceptileGrass / Dragon—Should’ve kept its Mega typing; missed opportunity.
DustoxPsychic / Poison—Dustox is super forgettable; Psychic helps it stand out.
MasquerainBug / Water—Another specially-oriented Bug/Water. Better than Bug/Flying slop.
Nosepass / ProbopassRock / Electric—Rock/Electric matches magnetism better than Rock/Steel does.
DelcattyNormal / FairyPlay RoughDelcatty is turbo trash; Fairy at least gives it a better type.
FlygonBug / Dragon—Controversial, but more interesting than the usual Ground/Dragon when Garchomp exists.
AltariaDragon / Fairy—Takes its Mega typing and makes a regular non-mega Dragon/Fairy.
MiloticWater / FairyDazzling Gleam, Draining KissGyarados counter-part; beauty theme fits Fairy strongly.
BanetteGhost / NormalScratch, Crush ClawRare typing; makes Banette more unique.
GlalieIce / RockAccelrock, Rock SlideIce/Rock is bad, but fits Glalie better than Ice alone and helps differentiate it from Froslass.
LuxrayElectric / Dark—Bro really made Luxray Electric/Dark (and it fits so well).
RampardosRock / FightingRock Smash, Brick Break, Collision CourseRock/Fighting is rare and Bastiodon got Steel—let the other fossil get something!
LopunnyNormal / Fighting—Matches its Mega typing; feels fitting.
Galarian YamaskRock / GhostAncient Power, Power GemRock/Ghost surprisingly doesn’t exist; swapped stats to make it a special attacker.
BearticIce / FightingRock Smash, Brick Break, Power-Up PunchIce/Fighting is only on Crabominable; fits Beartic’s design.
CetitanIce / PoisonPoison Sting, Poison JabUnused type; the purple spikes justify Poison typing.
